Join us for this updated session to discuss SAS 115 Communicating Internal Control Related Matters Identified in an Audit (formerly known as SAS 112). We will cover SAS 112 established standards and provided guidance on communicating matters related to an entity's internal control over financial reporting identified in an audit of financial statements, and how SAS 115 would effect that communication. The following are some of the changes resulting from the issuance of SAS 115 (and the original SAS 112):

  • The term reportable condition is no longer used. The terms significant deficiency and material weakness are used to describe control deficiencies that must be communicated to management and those charged with governance.
  • Communication to management and those charged with governance must be in writing.
  • Communicated specific significant deficiencies and material weaknesses in previous years need to continue to be communicated as long as those deficiencies continue to exist.
  • These items may now appear in your audited financial statements.

Attend this session to see how these and other aspects of SAS 115 may affect your organization.
