Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend?

To help every grant-funded organization run the best possible programs, we encourage executive directors, Head Start and other program directors, human resources directors, fiscal staff, administrative staff, program staff, board members, policy council members, funding source staff, grant writers, and your independent CPA to attend.

Why do we present this major conference in Las Vegas…and in July!?

Yes, Vegas in July is hot. We can’t deny it. But the answer to this question is simple; Las Vegas is one of the least expensive cities to host a conference of this size at this time of year. The nonpeak summer months allow for lower prices on both airfare and sleeping room rates. In addition, Wipfli’s longterm relationship with Caesars Palace allows us to continue offering competitive conference registration fees to our attendees.

How is this management conference different from the other training sessions we conduct during the year?

Wipfli offers training sessions in different cities throughout the United States year-round, educating organizations on the administrative and financial impact of the Federal regulations. But our Annual Management Conference for Grant-Funded Programs is different. This is our only event that offers such a depth and breadth of experience in all management issues affecting organizations like yours. This conference offers more than 65 sessions, from 25 seasoned trainers who specialize in management issues including Financial & Accounting, Human Resources, Systems & Technology, Head Start, Governance & Leadership, and Risk Management.

What is the check-in process?

Please bring your registration confirmation to check-in. Prior to attending any sessions, you should pickup your conference packet at Wipfli’s GFP Management Conference Registration Desk (location to be announced).

General Check-in and Registration times:

  • Monday, July 12, 2010, 12:00-5:00 pm
  • Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 7:30-9:30 am

Are refreshments included in the registration fee?

Yes. Light morning and afternoon refreshments are included in the registration fee.

Do I need to prepare or bring anything?

Come to this conference prepared to learn and have fun! Bring your registration confirmation for fast check-in. All conference materials will be provided, including a conference passport-your “entry pass” to get into the sessions you register for.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and in layers! Business casual or casual wear is appropriate. It may be hot outside, but the room temperatures inside tend to be chilly - we suggest bringing a sweater or jacket.

What materials and handouts do we receive?

At registration you will receive a Management Conference Binder to insert the materials you receive from each training session you attend. Your session materials will be handed to you when you arrive at each session. For your convenience, there are tabs in your binder reflecting each time slot so that you can put your materials behind the appropriate time. In addition, you will have access to all training materials by downloading them off the conference website through October 30, 2010.

How can I get all the sessions I want with the limited time we have at the conference?

We recommend bringing your team and using the group rate. That allows you to send 3 or more representatives from your agency at a discounted rate - you can save $500 or more! In addition, you have access to all training materials by downloading them after the conference beginning July 15 going through October 30, 2010.

Will I get a certificate to verify my participation?

Yes! An official certificate of participation will be sent approximately 4-6 weeks after the conference to those participants who turn in their stamped conference passport at the end of the conference.

Will there be time to ask questions in addition to my session?

Of Course! Just visit the Wipfli Q&A station. Wipfli staff and trainers will be available to answer your questions throughout the conference. Many trainers will be available for brief one on one consultations. Contact any Wipfli personnel and we will do our best to accomodate you.

Can I record this training seminar on tape or video?

No. To protect the confidentiality of all participant questions and comments, and to promote open discussion, we do not allow our training seminars to be recorded.
